HOWDY!!!!
It’s been awhile huh?!
JEHOVAH SHALOM- THE LORD IS PEACE!:)
SHALOM! = Nothing missing, Nothing broken = to be whole.
Honestly i’ve been so busy with school and work and meeting with people about my trip that I haven’t had time to sit down and write for my blog! BUT that doesn’t mean the Lord hasn’t been teaching me! Recently I’ve been doing a few studies on the fruits of the spirit! and one in particular has captured my attention!! PEACE! As Christians we are called to bear the fruits of the spirit and for me, peace just doesn’t come naturally… by nature I’m an EXTREMELY anxious person and it’s hard to do some things that seem simple to most. But the Lord gives peace. I’ve been shown countless times through scripture how to embrace a spirit of peace and I thought I would share some of those with you! The list is endless but I’ve managed to pick a few scriptures that really stand out to me!!! SO without further ado here are SOME of my favorites!
Genesis 8:11
which says “Then the dove came to him in the evening, and behold, a freshly plucked olive leaf was in her mouth; and Noah knew that the waters had receded from the earth.” OKAY so I know the word peace wasn’t used in this scripture specifically but if you do a little digging you can find it! Noah had been in the ark for AWHILE by this time and if I were him I know i’d probably be a little weary from being in a boat with a bunch of animals and what not LOL. BUT the dove bringing an olive branch is EXTREMELY symbolic first because olive branches take their sweet sweet time to grow!!! Olives were very important in bible times for anointing & other things. GOOD THINGS TAKE TIME! But the Lord is willing to provide if you have patience!
Matthew 6:26-30
“Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?” MIC DROP!!! TOO GOOD!!
Psalm 34:4-5
“I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.”
2 Corinthians 3:17
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
John 14:27
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
Romans 8:6
“For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.”
Philippians 4:6-7
“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Galatians 5:22-23
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”
ALL OF PSALM 139!!
THERE IS NO WHERE WE CAN GO TO GET AWAY FROM HIS SPIRIT!!
I hope these scriptures remind you of the peace we have access to!
